Best Show Ever
One night my boyfriend, Daniel and I decided to have
a night in. We ordered pizza and went to the nearest Redbox to rent a couple of
movies. Daniel has a habit of choosing really terrible movies, but we decided
to each chose one. I chose 47 Meters Down Uncaged and
he chose The Fanatic. We watched the movie I chose first and both
enjoyed it. Then we watched The Fanatic. John Travolta was the main
character so we thought it would be good. We could not have been
more wrong. In comparison to hits such as Grease and Pulp
Fiction, it was not John Travolta's best moment. We laughed and made fun of it the
entire time because it was ridiculous. Travolta plays a man who is obsessed
with his favorite celebrity and when he does not get to meet him, he begins
stalking. At one point he breaks into the actor's home and the characters
become violent. There were parts where the dialogue was random and awkward. It was
awful but shockingly entertaining.
It’s interesting because although the first movie
was of better quality, we enjoyed The Fanatic more! Sometimes
it isn’t about the quality of the movie but the overall experience. The premise
was pretty bad, but I recommend it to others if they want a good laugh. I think
everyone should experience it. To quote Daniel, “It definitely left a lasting impression”.
Watching The Fanatic is a top media highlight I look back on often. It is an experience that I share
with someone else and I think that is what makes the connection. If
I watched it by myself it would solely be another bad movie. I have a shared experience
and that movie is our joke every time we go to a Redbox. Before I used to dread
the movies, Daniel picked. Now I only encourage him. Since then he has chosen
quite a few horrendous movies. Although the movies are of poor quality, we continue
to find the humor in it.
